I have some flowering/fruiting foxtails near an adonidia doing the same. I have a couple of completely green ones in my yard and there isn’t a bit of variegation I think it’s better classifies as mostly green or mostly variegated that’s my conclusion Time will tell with my original plant... I'm encouraged to see some growth of the spear, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. So after a couple weeks of treatment, the remaining leaves are browning but I have noticed some minimal growth (a couple millimeters) of the spear.
